portraits
Portraits
are tough. I love to do them and I hate to do them. In college,
we had live models to work from and I developed my fondness
for full length portraits. I remember as a child visiting
the Norton Museum of Art in Palm Beach, Florida, and seeing
a Sargent portrait. I work from my own photographic studies
and have begun video taping my subjects to help with character
studies as well. I work with either watercolor or acrylics
on wood panels or gessoed paper.
