Dining Room

Think I'm not going to put a dining table in there and use it for my painting studio. Keep the office downstairs just for the compters and printers.

Everything is pretty much done now. Exept for the touch ups which you can see all the blue tape.. : ) I love the copper slate in the bathroom... so cool. Have to put shelves up in laundry though still.

Driveway Excavation

Hopefully pour this weekend. Gonna be one big driveway... Yikes.......

Bookcases and Shelves

Todd got the shelves in the bathroom and guest bedroom installed this weekend. Bookcases in living room still need to be painted and the window seat needs to be built.

Martin installed the countertops yesterday. Still need the backsplashes and the cooktop cutout.

Well, its getting there. Couple issues with tile height but the rest of it looks pretty good.

Bar Top and Big Surf

Now all we need is the rest of the cabinets and the granite. Missed the big set, batteries died but you get the idea. Surf at Pier 1 this morning.

Busted Cabinet

Finally getting cabinets installed and had some damage. Actually not that bad. The oven cabinet (of course the most expensive one) looks like the one side got smacked. Frame is ok, top and bottom corners busted. We'll see what Lowes has to say.

Tigerwood Floors

Tod got the upstairs almost done this weekend. Really pretty wood. Living Room, Dining Room, Kitchen and Hallways. May have enough to do Master bedroom too.

Truckload of Cabinets

They're here..... : ) Guy was pretty good with a forklift. Got em all in the garage.

Ohana Paint colors

The living room and dining room and hallway are the Mustardy yellow color. So far, the one bedroom is the green. Should look really good with white crown and base molding.

Change Post Colors

Think painting the posts white will help tone down the color. You can see the orignal color on the left.

Paint Scheme

Well.... just your basic house color it isn't.... : )

Kinda makes you feel like you're on a boat, in the middle of the ocean, floating, rocking, gazing off into the horizon.

Ohana Entry

Here's a shot of the front of the ohana... 2 bedroom, 1 bath, full kitchen and own laundry room. Going to do all slate floors except for one bedroom, that will be carpet.

Bookcases

Nester had the bookcases fixed. Much better now. Added the reveal on the right side. Also added the wall in the bathroom tub area.

Not happy with the way these are coming out. Going to have to add piece on right to bring away from wall. Then they'll be symmetrical and I'll be happy.. : )

Gosh... I didn't realize how much duct work and stuff went into the system. Its getting there. Insulation this weekend then drywall next week.

So glad we had this window added. Was worth every penny of the $531.

Bummers

Framing was supposed to start this Wednesday but...... Lumber delayed coming from Oahu... Won't be here till Friday then Monday is a holiday so won't unload till maybe Tuesday. Soooooo, guess framing wont start till sometime next week.

Underground Utilities

Looks like its almost done. Gotta get inspected then Jessie can cover it up. Thanks to our super cool neighbors Akamu and Skyler for letting us dig up their driveway so we could go under. Should have that steel plate out next week.

Port a Potty

Its truly a constuction site for sure now... The port a potty has arrived.
Oh the slab got poured Tuesday too. Looks really nice and level. Kinda looks small though.

A Slab is Born

Well, not quite, but soon. Actually supposed to be poured next Tuesday. Looks kinda small.

Rough-in

After a annoying first day, Shawn the plumber is hard at work. Helps to have updated plans..... : ) Who did those drawings anyway. Manny was too busy to smile for the camera so no picture. Sand sure makes it easier to dig trenches.

Schedule Update

Ok... Shawn the plumber should be done with rough-in by Friday. The next week, mason comes back to finish forming slab. Scheduled to pour August 9th or 10th. Lumber scheduled for delivery August 24th. Jessie the framer, scheduled back out on August 22nd. Will fit the underground utilities in-between.

Forms

Taking shape... Then Shawn the plumber comes in Wednesday for rough in.

The sign goes up...

Zoe got their sign put up yesterday. Thats my "new" truck. Only a year old and already got 33,000 miles on it. I drive too much.

Site Plan

Site plan drawing by Kim Harter... Gives you a pretty good idea of the lot layout. Things have changed slightly since we've added the retaining walls. Doesn't show the whole driveway. Also shows the older version of the ground floor plan.

Front Elevation

Quick elevation drawing. Haven't decided on color scheme yet. Will be 2 colors with 3rd trim color. Thinking of lighter tone on top story. Deck rail design is different. Heliconia pattern pickets.

Super Ray

Well.... here's our lovely wall. Runs 40' on both sides of property to keep that wonderful sand from eroding and the neighbors houses from falling down. Think we will have to either plaster it, paint it, or if we have any money left, rock face it.

Many thanks to Ray the mason and Jessie for getting it done so fast. Sorry Akamu for running over 2 of your palm trees... No worries, we'll buy ya new ones.

The Driveway Appears

Jessie got the driveway and slab area pretty well done. Also got the water and sewer lines in. Meeting with Ray the mason later today to get retaining walls figured out. Looking really cool.

Day One- Excavation

Jessie and his crew get started. Opps, they bulldozed Melissa's palm trees. They're under the pile somewhere. (they were kinda dead anyway) : )

Surf Dog

Nothing to do with the house project, but took Screech to beach this weekend and to my surprise, he swam out and jumped on my stand-up surf board. Paddled around with him for an hour or so. Then he jumped back off near shore and swam in. Swims good for only having 3 legs... Happy 4th of July.
