Florida has some of the most wonderful birds. They are my companions as I paddle my OC1 on the waterways. Funny how each species has its own temperament. The great blue heron almost always complains and flies off with a loud croak, the busy ibis ignores me and the reclusive kingfisher doesn’t let me get near.

I’ve always loved paddling and surfing with the honus (sea turtles) but have resisted painting them for years. This little guy followed me for about 20 minutes chasing my leash that I was dragging because I didn’t want to get a funny tan line. He (she?) kept checking it out and just captivated me.
